Which kids track pants and shorts should you choose?
The range is AS Colour's Track and Relax Track styles, each made as Kids (sizes 2 to 6) and Youth (sizes 8 to 14), in pants and in shorts. That's eight garments, so the real choice is fit and age group rather than brand.
| Style | Kids sizes 2 to 6 | Youth sizes 8 to 14 | What the product pages list |
| Track pants | Yes | Yes | Sweat pants with elastic waist, drawcord and side pockets |
| Track shorts | Yes | Yes | Sweat shorts with elastic waist, drawcord and pockets |
| Relax track pants | Yes | Yes | Relaxed fit, 320 gsm, 80% cotton and 20% recycled polyester fleece |
| Relax track shorts | Yes | Yes | Relaxed fit, 320 gsm, 80% cotton and 20% recycled polyester fleece |
For most school and club orders we'd pick the Relax pants or shorts. The fabric weight is stated (320 gsm is a proper mid-weight fleece, the sort of thing a kid can wear through a cold morning on the sideline) and the relaxed fit is forgiving across a mixed-age group. Colours differ by style, so check the product page for what's available before you plan a team palette.
How can you brand kids track pants and shorts?
These are cotton-rich fleece garments, so the methods that work are the ones for cotton. Sublimation needs polyester and light colours, so it isn't the answer here.
- Screen printing is the usual choice for a one- or two-colour crest or wordmark on the leg, and it gets cheaper per garment as the run grows.
- DTF transfers suit a full-colour mascot or a small run, because there's no colour setup to pay for.
- Embroidery gives a stitched, uniform look for a small logo on the thigh, though fine detail and tiny text don't survive stitching well.
Each product page offers one, two or three decoration positions. Our artwork team confirms the method and the logo size on your proof, which is free and arrives before anything is made.
Ordering kids track pants and shorts
There's no minimum, so a kindergarten can order twelve pairs as easily as a school can order three hundred. You can mix Kids and Youth sizes and several garments in one order, and the whole order counts toward quantity pricing. Many of these products show a quantity price ladder on the product page, and your quote confirms the branded price. After you approve the proof we decorate in house, and the quote confirms timing. Send your size breakdown with the enquiry so nothing is guessed.
Who buys kids track pants and shorts?
- Schools use them for PE and sport days. The logo is seen at every carnival and gets worn weekly through the term, so a crest on the leg does more than a one-off tee.
- Junior sporting clubs order a squad set so parents and coaches recognise the team on the day, and the same design can be reordered each season.
- Holiday programs, camps and childcare centres give a matching set to every child, which makes headcounts easier on an excursion.
Multi-site organisations that reorder every year can ask about our online stores and uniform programs through the enquiry form. If you supply a mascot, crest or club logo, you need to own it or have permission to use it.
What goes with kids track pants and shorts?
Most buyers pair them with AS Colour kids t-shirts and kids sweatshirts and hoodies for a full set, and add an AS Colour cap or hat for outdoor days. Parents and staff who need to match can look at AS Colour men's pants and shorts. For new-student or camp packs, our kitting service bundles items together.
