Which fishing shirt should you choose?
Most orders come down to one question: do you want a full-colour design across the whole shirt, or a logo on a plain one? That splits the range into two groups, and the rest is fabric and fit.
| Type | Examples in the range | Fabric and features listed | Best for |
| Sublimated polyester tees and shirts | Men's Polyester Sublimated Fishing Tee, Airstream Fishing Shirt | Ultra mesh of 90% polyester and 10% spandex at 160gsm; the Airstream is 100% polyester with a vented upper back | Clubs, tournaments and teams wanting an all-over design |
| Fishing polos | Custom Fishing Polo, long sleeve sublimated polo | The Custom Fishing Polo is 150gsm ultra mesh polyester with a fabric collar and a choice of clear, white or black buttons | Charter crews and staff who want a collar |
| Hoodies, pullovers and 1/4 zips | Sun Protection Fishing Hoodie, 1/4 Zip Fishing Pullover | Polyester and spandex blends, several with a hood or a pocket | Early starts, boat decks and cooler months |
| Ripstop and utility shirts | JB's HV L/S Ripstop Fishing Shirt, Insect Protection Fishing Shirt | The JB's is 150gsm cotton ripstop in hi-vis; the insect protection shirt has pleated chest pockets and a rear vent | Working crews, councils and fisheries teams |
If you're ordering for a club or a tournament, we'd pick a sublimated long-sleeve tee or polo. The fabric is light, the design can run over the sleeves and back, and every angler gets the same shirt without any of it looking like a giveaway. The long sleeve shirts category is worth a look if you want something plainer for staff.
How do you brand a fishing shirt?
Sublimation is the method we'd recommend for most fishing shirts. The ink is dyed into the polyester fibres, so it doesn't crack or peel the way a surface print can, and it lets you run colour, gradients and photos across the whole garment. Because it works on white or light polyester only, the shirt's colour comes from your artwork rather than from a dyed base. Our sublimation print page explains the process in more detail.
- Sublimation suits the mesh tees, polos and hoodies. The product pages describe the print as fade-resistant, and you can include a name, number or club slogan.
- Embroidery suits the firmer fabrics, such as the cotton ripstop shirts and polos, when you want a small chest logo that looks like a uniform.
- Screen printing and DTF transfers are options for a one or two colour logo on a plain shirt, which is cheaper to set up than a full sublimated design.
Product pages offer one, two or three decoration positions. The proof shows the method, logo size and placement before anything is made.
What about sun and insect protection?
Several shirts list UPF 50+ on the product page, including the Airstream, the sun protection hoodie and the sublimated fishing tee, and the Insect Protection shirt describes a permethrin treatment that lasts up to 100 washes. The JB's hi-vis ripstop lists the standards it complies with. Ratings differ from shirt to shirt, so look at the page for the shirt you pick. If a shirt has to meet a safety standard for work, tell us what it's for and we'll check the decoration doesn't interfere with it.
How does ordering work?
There's no minimum order, so a club of fifteen can order as easily as a crew of two hundred. You'll see a free digital proof showing the shirt, colours, logo size and position, and nothing goes into production until you approve it. Sublimated shirts are printed to your design, so allow more time than for a stocked shirt. Sizes can be mixed in one order, and many shirts show quantity pricing on the product page, with the quote confirming your branded price.
Who buys promotional fishing shirts?
- Fishing clubs and tournament organisers, who put the sponsor logos on the back and the club name on the chest, so the shirt becomes the event's photo on every boat ramp and weigh-in.
- Charter and tackle businesses, whose crew wear the brand on the water in front of customers all day, every trip.
- Councils, fisheries and marine crews, who want a hi-vis or insect-protection shirt that works on the job and is easy to recognise.
- Corporate groups running a fishing day, who give every guest a matching shirt to keep after the event. Our kitting service can pack a shirt with a cap into a ready-to-hand-out set.
Multi-site organisations that reorder shirts regularly can ask us about an online store or uniform program.
What else goes with a fishing shirt?
A shirt is only part of the outfit. Many buyers add sun hats or bucket hats to the order, and polo shirts or hoodies and sweatshirts for the shore crew. For working teams on or near water, see our hi-vis shirts.
