Which branded clothing should I choose?

Start with who wears it and how often. Staff wear a garment every working day, so the logo is seen by customers all year. An event crowd wears a tee once or twice, so cost per piece matters more than fabric.

  • Tees. The AS Colour Classic Tee is a 220 gsm, 100% combed cotton crew neck in sizes S to 5XL and more than 50 colours. Our custom printed t-shirts cover crew, V-neck and singlets, and the grid also lists youth and kids tees.
  • Polos. The 210 Polo is a 210 gsm pique knit in 65% polyester and 35% cotton, in 19 colours. Browse branded polo shirts for men and women, including golf polos.
  • Hoodies and jumpers. The AS Colour half zip hood is 320 gsm, 80% cotton and 20% recycled polyester. See custom hoodies and sweatshirts for cotton and polar fleece options.
  • Jackets. The AS Colour Mens Coach Jacket is lightweight nylon with a snap front, and the grid also lists a custom varsity jacket. Branded jackets add a winter layer to a uniform.
  • Shirts. Oxford and business shirts, such as the Allen and Acton ranges, sit in corporate shirts for front-of-house and office teams.
  • Sport and active. Stormtech club jerseys and sublimated fishing shirts sit with activewear and gym wear, for clubs and teams that want a full-colour design.

Workwear buyers should look at workwear and safety, and hospitality clothing covers aprons and chef wear. For caps and beanies, see custom headwear.

What is the best way to put a logo on clothing?

The method depends on the garment, the logo and the quantity. The artwork team confirms the final method on your free digital proof.

MethodBest forLimits
EmbroideryPolos, jackets, workwear, capsFine detail and tiny text do not stitch well; digitising is a one-off setup
Screen printTees and hoodies in volumeSetup per colour; not suited to gradients
DTF or heat transferFull-colour logos, small runs, mixed fabricsFeel and wash life differ from screen print
SublimationAll-over prints on polyester sportswearPolyester and light colours only

For staff polos and jackets, embroidery is the usual choice. It lasts as long as the garment and reads as a uniform rather than a giveaway. For event tees in volume, screen print is the usual choice because the unit cost falls as the run grows. Sublimation dyes the ink into polyester fibres, so it does not crack or peel like a surface print.

Ordering custom clothing: minimums, proofs and timing

There is no minimum order on any product family. Each order has a one-off setup for the logo, so the price per item drops noticeably from around 10 units. Setup is calculated by method and number of positions and shown in the quote, and nothing is added after approval. Many garments show quantity pricing on the product page, and the quote confirms the branded price.

Every branded order gets a free digital proof showing the garment, colours, logo size, position and method. Nothing goes to production without your approval. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF) are best, and the team can redraw a low-resolution logo.

Stocked garments are decorated in house at Annandale, and some orders can be ready the same day. Custom made garments, such as fully sublimated shirts, are made offshore. Light apparel usually arrives one to three weeks after artwork and sample approval by air, and jackets usually go by sea, up to about six weeks. A longer lead time gives a better unit price, and rush costs more. Christmas production slots fill from September, so book end-of-year apparel early.

You can mix colours, sizes, styles and print positions in one order, and the whole order counts toward volume pricing.

Who buys promotional clothing and why?

  • Staff uniforms. A team in embroidered polos and jackets carries the brand into every customer interaction, every working day. Multi-site organisations that reorder uniforms can ask about an online store and uniform program through the enquiry form.
  • Events and fundraisers. Screen printed tees in volume turn a crowd into a visible group, and charities can resell them to raise funds. Pair them with children's clothing for family days, and check the product page for suitability.
  • Onboarding packs. A tee, hoodie and cap in a kitted welcome pack helps new starters feel part of the team from day one.

Hi-vis and PPE garments must meet the relevant AS/NZS standard for the job, and a large print over reflective tape can affect compliance. Tell us what the garment is for, and the team will confirm. See hi-vis and reflective clothing. Supply artwork only if you own it or have permission to use it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best print method for custom t-shirts? chevron-down

Screen print is the usual choice for tees in volume, because it is durable and the unit cost falls as the run grows. It needs a setup per colour, so it suits simple logos. For a full-colour logo or a small run, DTF or heat transfer avoids colour setups. The artwork team confirms the method on your proof.

Should I embroider or print a polo shirt? chevron-down

Embroider polos for staff uniforms. Stitching lasts as long as the garment and looks like a uniform. Print or transfer suits a larger or full-colour design. Embroidery needs the logo digitised once, and very small text does not stitch cleanly, so a simple vector logo works best.

Can I print a full-colour logo or photo on clothing? chevron-down

Yes. DTF or heat transfers reproduce full colour, gradients and fine detail on cotton and mixed fabrics, and suit small runs. For an all-over design, sublimation dyes the ink into polyester, such as the sublimated fishing shirts, but works on polyester and light colours only. Screen print is better for flat colours in volume.

Will the logo survive washing and wear? chevron-down

Embroidery and screen print are the usual choices for garments washed every week. Sublimation is dyed into the fabric, so it does not crack or peel like a surface print. DTF and heat transfer feel and wear differently from screen print. Tell us how often the garment is washed and the proof will show the method we recommend.

How big can the logo be and where does it go? chevron-down

Logo size and position are set by the garment and the method, and the proof shows both before production. The product page lets you choose one, two or three decoration positions. Fewer positions and one-colour logos keep the price down.

What is the minimum order for custom clothing? chevron-down

There is no minimum order on any product family, stocked or custom made. Every order has a one-off setup for the logo, so the price per garment drops noticeably from around 10 units. Many products show quantity pricing on the product page, and your quote confirms the branded price for the garment and method you choose.

How long does custom clothing take? chevron-down

Some stocked, decorated orders can be ready the same day, and the quote confirms timing. Custom made garments usually arrive one to three weeks after artwork and sample approval when sent by air, and jackets by sea take up to about six weeks. Rush is available on most products and costs more. Christmas slots fill from September.

Can I mix sizes and colours in one order? chevron-down

Yes. Sizes, colours, styles and print positions can be combined in one order, and the whole order counts toward volume pricing. Light colours share one dark version of the logo and dark colours a light version. Most listed tees and polos run from small sizes up to 5XL or larger, and the product page shows the exact range.

Can I see a sample before I order? chevron-down

Yes. You get a digital mock-up before ordering, and you can ask for an undecorated physical sample to check fabric and fit. The sample cost is confirmed with the quote and credited back if the order goes ahead. For large apparel orders a pre-production sample can be made for your approval. You can also visit the Annandale showroom by arrangement.

How do I get the best price on branded apparel? chevron-down

Order around 10 or more garments so the setup is spread, choose one print position and a one-colour logo, and combine items in one order. Flat embroidery costs less than 3D puff or patches. A longer lead time also lowers the unit price. Your quote shows quantity breaks, decoration costs and the total.
