Custom Printed Promotional Brands

Promotional brands are name-brand garments and bags, such as AS Colour tees, JB's polos and workwear, UNIQLO jackets and Samsonite luggage, decorated with your logo. Custom Gear applies it by embroidery, screen print or transfer in one to three positions. They suit staff uniforms, club kits, client gifts and events where the recipient recognises the label.

Which promotional brand should you choose?

This category gathers the brand-name products Custom Gear decorates with your logo. Every brand has its own page, and the grid above shows a selection across them. Choose the brand by what the wearer or recipient already thinks of it, then by the specification. The table uses details stated on the product pages.

Brand products also sit at a different point from house-brand items. A well-known label adds perceived value to the gift, while a trade brand such as JB's is chosen for fit, fabric and repeat availability. Neither is better by default. Pick the one that matches what the recipient will do with it.

How can you brand name-brand products?

Product pages in this category offer your logo in one, two or three positions, and the artwork team confirms the final method on your free digital proof. These are the usual choices:

  • Embroidery for polos, jackets and caps. It lasts as long as the garment and reads as a uniform. Fine detail and very small text are limited.
  • Screen printing for tees and larger runs. It gives solid, durable colour at a low unit cost as quantities rise, with a setup cost per colour. See screen printing.
  • Digital transfers for full-colour logos, photos or small runs. See DTF transfers. Feel and wash life differ from screen print.

For staff polos, embroidery is the usual choice. For event tees, screen printing is. Supply a vector logo (AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF) where you can. A low resolution file usually needs redrawing, and the artwork team can help.

Can hi-vis and workwear be branded?

Yes, but tell the team what the garment is for. The JB's HV Safety Vest page lists AS/NZS 1906.4:2010 and AS/NZS 4602.1:2011, day use only. A large print over reflective tape can affect compliance, so the team checks placement before production.

How do you order branded apparel and bags?

There is no minimum order on any product, stocked or custom made. Each order carries a one-off setup for your logo, so the price per item drops noticeably from around 10 units. Unit price keeps falling as quantity rises, and your quote shows the quantity breaks, decoration cost and total. Setup depends on the method and the number of positions, and is shown in the quote before you approve. Nothing is added after approval. Freight is quoted separately.

Some priced products, such as the AS Colour Classic Tee and Kids Tee, show a quantity price ladder on their product page. Most other products in this range are priced in the quote, which confirms the branded price.

Stocked products are decorated in house, and some orders can be ready the same day. Your quote confirms the timing for your order. Made-to-order items are produced offshore: light items such as caps and beanies usually arrive 1 to 3 weeks after artwork and sample approval by air, while jackets and luggage usually go by sea and take up to about 6 weeks. A longer lead time gives a better unit price. Rush production costs more and narrows the choice. Physical samples are available, and you can visit the Annandale showroom by arrangement.

Who buys promotional brands, and why?

  • Staff uniforms. An embroidered JB's 210 Polo or AS Colour jacket is worn every working day, so customers see the logo on every visit or job.
  • Corporate gifts and client thank-yous. A Samsonite spinner or UNIQLO parka is a gift people keep and use, and the label tells the client you spent time choosing it.
  • Clubs and events. AS Colour tees and bucket hats or Stormtech jerseys are worn well after the event ends. For a new-starter pack, pair a tee and cap using kitting.

Multi-site teams that reorder uniforms can ask about online stores and uniform programs through the form below.

Frequently asked questions

Which print method is best for a branded polo or tee? chevron-down

Embroidery is the usual choice for polos and jackets, and screen printing for tees in volume. Embroidery lasts as long as the garment but limits fine detail. Screen print gives strong colour at lower unit cost as quantities rise. For a photo or gradient, digital transfers suit better. The artwork team confirms the method on your free proof.

Can I put my logo on hi-vis vests and safety workwear? chevron-down

Yes, products such as the JB's HV Safety Vest take a logo, but placement matters. A large print over reflective tape can affect compliance with the relevant AS/NZS standard. Tell the team what the garment is for, and they confirm placement and method on the proof. Custom Gear does not state a garment is compliant unless its product page names the standard.

How many logo positions can I have on a branded garment? chevron-down

Product pages in this category show decoration in one, two or three positions. Each extra position adds a decoration cost, shown in your quote, and the logo is sized to the printable area of the garment. Fewer positions give a lower unit price. Some safety items show no position options, so ask the team.

What artwork file do I need for embroidery on a brand polo? chevron-down

A vector file is best: AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF, with fonts converted to outlines. Embroidery needs your logo digitised into a stitch file, which is usually a one-off setup. A low resolution logo from a website or email signature usually needs redrawing. You do not need artwork to enquire, because the artwork team can help.

Can I add my logo next to the brand's own logo? chevron-down

Your logo goes in the positions you choose, and the proof shows exactly where each one sits. Any artwork you supply must be yours, or you must have permission to use it. That includes sports, licensed and third-party marks. If you also want a brand's own mark reproduced, tell the team when you enquire.

What is the minimum order for branded apparel and bags? chevron-down

There is no minimum order on any product, stocked or custom made. Each order has a one-off setup for the logo, so the price per item drops noticeably from around 10 units. If you only need a few, ask for a quote at that quantity and compare the unit price at 10 or more. Your quote shows the price for the product and method you choose.

How long does branded clothing take to arrive? chevron-down

Some orders of stocked products can be ready the same day, because they are decorated in house, and your quote confirms the timing. Made-to-order items usually arrive 1 to 3 weeks after artwork and sample approval by air for light items, or up to about 6 weeks by sea for jackets and luggage. Late artwork or changes after approval move the date.

Are brand-name products worth more than house-brand ones? chevron-down

Brand names carry perceived value: a recipient recognises AS Colour, FootJoy or Samsonite before they see your logo. House-brand and trade items can match on fabric and fit at a lower cost. Compare the specification on the product page, such as gsm, fibre content and sizes, and choose by who will wear it and how often.

Can I see a sample before I order? chevron-down

Yes. Digital mock-ups are available before you order, and undecorated physical samples let you check quality. Sample cost is confirmed with the quote and credited back when the order goes ahead. You can also see products at the Annandale showroom, 28 Albion St, by arrangement. For large apparel orders, a pre-production sample can be made for approval where agreed.

How do I get the lowest price on branded products? chevron-down

Order around 10 or more units so the setup is spread, use one decoration position, combine items in one order and allow a longer lead time. Unit price falls with quantity, and your quote shows the breaks so you can compare. Mixed colours of the same item count toward one volume price. The unit price includes the product, decoration and setup unless the quote says otherwise.
