Types of promotional beach towels in the range
Most towels are from the Blem range: flat-woven 100% cotton rather than looped terry, so they fold smaller, dry faster and shake clean of sand more easily than a thick bath towel. Every standard Blem towel is 100 x 200 cm, longer than the 75 x 150 cm size common in promotional towels. The collections differ mainly by weight in gsm: a higher gsm means a thicker, more absorbent, bulkier towel. Several Blem towels are made from 100% organic cotton. How to put your logo on a beach towel
The fabric decides the method. Every product page lets you choose 1, 2 or 3 decoration positions, or leave the towel unbranded.
Cotton beach towels and ponchos
The Blem towels arrive in finished woven colours and patterns, so a logo is usually added on top rather than woven in. Custom Gear decorates the cotton towels, ponchos and the Patara Turkish Towel using embroidery, screen printing, transfer printing or sublimation, choosing the method to suit weave, artwork and quantity. Embroidery is the usual choice on a textured weave, since the stitching anchors in and outlasts a printed finish; screen printing and transfer printing such as DTF suit flatter weaves and simpler logos. The logo is sized to the decoration area rather than a fixed maximum, and sits across the main towel, at either end, or in a designated area; on a poncho the usual spots are front, back, chest and pocket.
Microfibre hooded change towels
Sublimation dyes polyester fibres with your artwork, so the design becomes part of the fabric with no raised print to crack or peel, and can carry photographs and gradients. It only works on polyester, offered on the two microfibre change towels, not the cotton range. On these the print runs full colour, all over, with PMS matched as closely as the process allows.
Fully custom, made-to-order towels

Standard stocked towels and ponchos take 7 to 10 business days from artwork approval, with rush available; custom towels take longer, confirmed with the quote. It depends on the fabric. There is no fixed maximum. The logo is sized to the available decoration area on each towel or poncho, and Custom Gear maximises the branding size within that area while keeping proportions and positioning correct. A 100 x 200 cm towel has two square metres of surface, so in practice the decoration method and position chosen, rather than a set dimension, determine how large the logo can go.
Will a logo on a beach towel survive salt water, sun and washing?
Embroidery and sublimation are the two most durable options. Embroidery thread is colourfast and does not crack or peel, and a sublimated design is dyed into the fibre so it cannot lift. Surface prints and transfers wear faster on a towel that is washed often. Care matters too: the Blem towels specify a cold or warm machine wash, no fabric softener and no tumble drying.
